The player has a built-in TV tunner that only allows the visualization of standard definition SD channels. Therefore, when trying to see an HD channel, the screen will only show the channel information over a black background and, in some ocassions, also the audio might be audible.

It is also possible that the channel is scrambled. This means that the channel is only available for subscriptors. An scrambled channel requires a decoder to visualize, with a prior access authorization and service subscription payment.

Many digital cameras and image edition software add hidden data to the .jpg files. This data can prevent your MP5 from loading the images. Try to eliminate them by saving the file with another name.

Make sure you are connecting the charger to the DC connector and not to the TVOUT one.

Make sure the DVB-T signal is strong enough were you are. Indoor reception is difficult if you are in a spot far from outdoors. Try changing your location and extend the built-in antenna completely.

Note: reception can be improved noticeably if the bundled external antenna is connected (while keeping the internal one deployed). If still you can't tune any signal, connect your MP5 Energy™ to a wall TV connector with the coaxial antenna adapter provided, and perform a full auto search (make sure the building antenna is prepared for DVB-T signals reception).

This function has been removed from the joystick since firmware 4.0. To activate/deactivate the TV-OUT you can do it from the SETTINGS menu or from the video playback menu.

If you want to see the DVB-T signal in your TV set, then activate the TV-OUT in the SETTINGS menu before activating the DVB-T.
