As you know, the Android smartphones are programmed so that the display turns off after a period of inactivity that can be chosen by the user from 15 seconds to 30 minutes.

If you go to Settings -> Display -> Sleep you can choose the time interval you want the display to keep turned on before sleeping. This is a very useful option, as it avoids unnecessary use of battery.

However, sometimes we want the display to be turned on for a long period of inactivity, 2 hours for instance, either because we are watching a film or an episode of our favourite series, reading the news, etc.

How can we make the display to keep turned on? Is there any solution?

One option would be to select a maximum time of -30 minutes- on Settings and touch the screen when it turns off. However, it doesn’t appear to be the most comfortable option, right?

We recommend to download the app that we present today: Awake! A very easy application that keeps the phone display always turned on.

Once Awake! has been installed, it will request access to lock the screen. Then, it will display a notification that will allow us to tap on the brightness icon to keep the display always turned on. If we want the display to turn off normally again, we just have to tap again.

Something very positive concerning this app is that it allows us to set the waiting time from 5 minutes to 4 hours, a period well above the 30 minutes that Android enables by default. To sum up, the maximum waiting period allows you to watch 4 episodes of Game of Thrones without having to worry about your smartphone’s screen.

Finally, it’s important to know that Awake! can be downloaded for free from the Play Store and it’s very easy to use.

What do you think about it? Did you know this app? If you find it interesting, please leave your comments. See you in the next post!
