10 albums that will turn 30 in 2021
You will no doubt have listened to some of the songs that turn thirty this year more than 10, 20 or even 100 times. As the best albums from the 1990s get older, Energy Sistem looks to honour those classics we hope will continue to sound in 2021.
As there may well be other great works we have overlooked, we would like to know your favourites among those albums turning 30 in 2021. We will be bringing out a new list based on all your recommendations, so be sure to leave your proposal in a comment.
Hands up anyone who doesn't know at least a few of these musical gems!

  1. Nirvana – Nevermind

That's some drum intro on Smells Like Teen Spirit! The start of 1990s grunge.

  1. U2 – Achtung Baby

The seventh studio album by the Irish band, which music critics consider one of their best.

  1. Mecano – Aidalai

This album, in contrast, did not go down so well in 1990s Spain. Flamenco pop? Neo-disco? A risky but less effective new direction for Ana Torroja & Co.

  1. Red Hot Chili Peppers – Blood Sugar Sex Magik

The Californian band's fifth album, which sold over 7 million copies. It includes some of the band's classic tracks, such as Give It Away, Under the Bridge, and Breaking the Girl.

  1. Metallica – Black Album

The band's highest-grossing album, with over 16 million copies sold in the United States. It features big hits such as Enter Sandman and Nothing Else Matters.

  1. Pearl Jam – Ten

Ten was not an initial success. It took 4 months to enter the Billboard 200 list in the United States, but went on to be a smash hit thanks to the rise of grunge following Nirvana's hugely successful album Nevermind. It includes Pearl Jam classics such as Alive and Black.

  1. Alejandro Sanz – Viviendo deprisa

The Madrid-based singer's debut album, with more than 1 million copies sold worldwide.

  1. Los Rodríguez – Buena suerte

This was the Spanish-Argentine rock band's first studio album, which they also produced themselves.

  1. Michael Jackson – Dangerous

This album featured hits such as Black or White. We bet you have danced and sung along to it a thousand times!

  1. E.M – Out of time

R.E.M.'s seventh album won 3 Grammy Awards, went platinum four times in the U.S., and has sold over 11 million copies worldwide.

2021 is the year to reminisce about the good old days. That's why we've prepared a series of Spotify playlists. Be sure to click and discover all the songs we've selected for you!
