The Super Bowl and
MUSIC + FOOTBALL?
Although at first glance it may seem that they have nothing to do with each other, there is an event that takes place every year that brings them together in a "little big concert": the "Halftime Show" of the Super Bowl.

"Small" because it is a 13-minute musical show that takes place in the middle of the Super Bowl game.

"Big concert" because, although in its beginnings it was usual for university bands, choirs, orchestras and some local artists to take part, this show has become a BIG SHOW.

Since 1988, great artists of the music industry of all styles have performed: from Michael Jackson, to Rihanna, the Rolling Stones, Paul McCartney, Lady Gaga, Eminem, Madonna, Beyoncé, Bruno Mars, Bruce Springsteen, Shakira or Jennifer López. The audience of live North American viewers alone averages more than 100 million. In addition to this, there are hundreds of millions of subsequent reproductions of the performances on YouTube. To make this spectacular show a reality, one of the essential elements, without a doubt, is the skill and professionalism of the "army" of technicians who carry it out in just 6 or 8 minutes, both the assembly prior to the show, as well as the dismantling afterwards so that the second half of the match can continue.

Next Sunday, 11 February 2024, the 58th edition will take place at Allegiant Stadium in Las Vegas, where the Kansas City Chiefs will take on the San Francisco 49ers. We've already got our Studio Monitor 4 home speakers and popcorn ready to enjoy the moment. This time, the guest artist will be Usher, who already appeared with The Black Eyes Peas in 2011, and there are also some surprise collaborations planned.

How about a look back at the last 10 performances?

To enjoy it in all its glory, I recommend you plug in your headphones or your favourite speaker and vibrate to these shows:

2023 – Rihanna
2021 – The Weeknd.
2017 – Lady Gaga.

So, what's your favourite performance? And which artist or band would you like to see on the 2025 Super Bowl Halftime Show?  Leave your comment!
