How to make the most of your car transmitter
If you are one of those who still drive without a wireless radio connection, then you surely know the benefits of having a Bluetooth car transmitter. These devices let you stream your favourite music from your phone, USB stick or Micro SD card via an FM frequency that the transmitter can broadcast to. But do you know how to make the most of your car transmitter and get the best sound experience? Have a look at these little tricks.

Find an empty FM frequency

To enjoy your favourite music via a Bluetooth car transmitter –always with the best sound quality–, it is important to tune to the right frequency on your car radio. It is best to use a frequency that is currently empty. For example, let’s assume your car does not receive any stations between 91.3 and 93.0. Ideally, the transmitter would be set to broadcast on 92.00, some distance from the other two frequencies. Why? Because this will avoid any interference from nearby stations. Don’t let anything interrupt your playlist!

For long trips, use the Bluetooth car transmitter's audio output

The tip we mentioned is great, but if you’re going on a long trip through different provinces, then you need to know another trick for your Bluetooth car transmitter.Radio stations usually switch their frequencies from province to province. If you had tuned your transmitter to 92.0, you may find that a local station appears here, meaning you will have to look for another empty frequency. So how can we get around this problem? Very easy: using your Bluetooth car transmitter's audio output (3.5 mm jack).

This audio output requires your car radio to have an AUX INPUT (which is easily recognisable as it is shaped like a headphone connection, or two white and red RCA connectors). In this case, simply connect your car transmitter’s audio output directly to the car radio's auxiliary input. This will stop you tuning in to local FM stations, and the sound will be both cleaner and clearer.

Not all Bluetooth car transmitters have this audio output, so please check that your car has one before purchasing. Do you know Energy Sistem's Car FM Xtra? A car transmitter with Bluetooth wireless connection and audio output, so nothing interrupts your music on road trips.
