How to set up a VPN network in your Android
Before we start explaining how to set up a VPN network in your Android device, we would like to tell you in a few words what are these networks about and with what aim are they used.

VPN stands for Virtual Private Network. This is a type of network that enables users to connect their mobile devices to Internet safely, in short, an encrypted network.

These networks work with a technology that is called tunneling since they create a sort of communication 'tunnel' between two points in which the data come and go privately. Thanks to VPN networks, we are able to establish communication between our smartphone or tablet and a computer safely by logging in with a username and a password or in other words, we can connect to a Wi-Fi network in which no one can see the data that we are sending because the information is encrypted.

One of the advantages of using VPN networks is that we can circumvent the restrictions that some servers set when users try to access certain contents from other places that are not the country of origin. A good example of this is when we try to access the US Play Store and download apps while we are in Spain or watch Netfix contents here. Now this is possible with a VPN that enables users to access sites in the USA.

VPN networks are widely used in the business and corporate world since they allow employees to connect to the company's network and access servers while they are not in the office.

But if we look far beyond this, VPN networks can also be useful at home for all the above mentioned reasons.

How to set up a VPN network in your Android device?

To do this, open Settings > More...> VPN. The path may vary depending on device brand, model and Android version.

Once you have opened 'VPN', you will probably be asked to enter your PIN or password in order to enable storage of credentials. You just have to set up a PIN.

Once you have done this, press '+' (or 'Add network') and select the VPN type that you want to set up. In the next stage you will be asked to enter some data (name, type, server address). The network provider must have given you this data.

Once you have completed these fields, proceed to click on your VPN network to connect to it. You will be asked to enter your username and password the first time that you log in. You can also choose if you want your smartphone to remember your login data.

And that's it! From that moment on you will have your VPN network ready. As you can see, it's not difficult!

See you in the next post!
