10 Spanish bands you have to listen to this year

10 grupos españoles que tienes que escuchar este año
This list is designed for those who can't live without music. If you consider yourself that way, you're about to discover ten Spanish bands that are poised to rock this 2019. You'll likely see their names featured on the lineups of major summer festivals, or at a concert venue in your city. The important thing is that these are the promising bands poised to make it big this year, and you'll become a fan from the first listen.

If you search Spotify, you'll find several playlists with recommendations of the most-streamed songs of 2019. Among these lists, you're sure to recognize some of these bands after getting to know them. If you like rock, pop, or more underground sounds, you'll love this post.

  • Carolina During

Haven't you heard that "all my friends are called Cayetano" yet? This Madrid band has taken the crown of this year's hit songs with their tremendous hit. They also benefited from collaborating with Amaia on "Perdona," a cover of Marcelo Criminal's song. This year they're releasing their new album, though a release date has yet to be announced.

  • Cala Vento

A distorted guitar with several pedals, plus a drum kit, is a winning combination. With just two instruments, the duo Cala Vento can sound like a thunderous four- or five-piece rock band. They're releasing their album in April, and they sound this good:

  • Delaporte

Another duo that's getting a lot of attention. In this case, they're an electronic duo. Sandra Delaporte and Sergio Salvi are a 100% danceable duo with every hit they release. They rose to popularity with "Un Jardín," the theme song for the TV show "Fama a bailar." This year, they released their second album, featuring songs like "Azul Marino."

  • A lot

Martí Perarnau IV is his magical majesty. In this new phase of the group, he travels solo through his childhood memories, including nods to '80s pop culture. A bang on the table in the form of a sociopolitical opinion with darts aimed at everyone.

  • Dear

A band that emerged last year in Madrid, in the Lavapiés neighborhood. Formed by three girls from different parts of Spain under the motto #StopBajona. Their cool pop will remind you of 'Fresones Rebeldes' on several occasions. Very fun melodies and a few surprises, like their cover of this C. Tangana song.

  • Carminha News

The authentic festival is in Galicia. This garage rock quartet with punk touches will have you moving your body if you get the chance to see them live. Don't miss the songs "Te quiero Igual" and "Ya no te veo."

  • Cupid

With just one song on the street, they already made a name for themselves at last year's Primavera Club. Cupido is the union of Pimp Flaco and Solo Astra. Their calling card is a new indie with a strong sense of '80s trap, full of emotion and a desire to fill every stage with love.

  • Miss Caffeina

They're already veterans in the art of creating songs that make the rounds at hundreds of Spanish summer festivals. You've surely danced to their single from their previous album, "Mira como vuelo," more than once. In 2019, they've returned with their more poppy side in "Oh Long Johnson."

  • I Hate Them

Pure punk from four girls from Madrid. They're already on the national festival circuit this summer, and you'll be thrilled with their catchy sound.

  • Long live Sweden

We round out this list with another band that, like Miss Caffeina, could already be included in the list of veteran groups. Although they've recently climbed to the top of the Spanish charts, the quartet from Murcia boasts impeccable strength and stamina on stage. Hits to sing along to again and again without stopping.
