Discover Awake: the app that keeps your smartphone screen always on

Artículo de blog

As you may know, Android smartphones are programmed to turn off the screen after a user-selectable period of inactivity, ranging from 15 seconds to 30 minutes.

In Settings -> Display -> Sleep after, you can select the time interval after which you want the screen to go to sleep . This option is very useful because it prevents unnecessary battery drain.

However, there are times when we want the screen to be on for a prolonged period of inactivity, such as 2 hours, either because we are watching a movie or an episode of our favorite series, reading the news, etc.

So how do I prevent the screen from going to sleep? Is there a solution?

One option is to select the maximum time in Settings—30 minutes—and tap the screen when it turns off. However, that doesn't seem like the most convenient option, does it?

We recommend downloading the app we're introducing today: Awake! A very simple app that forces your phone screen to stay on all the time.

Once you've installed Awake, it will ask you to lock the screen. It will then show you a notification in which you can tap the brightness icon to keep the screen always on . If you want it to turn off normally, tap it again.

One great thing about this app is that it lets you set a waiting time from 5 minutes to 4 hours , a much longer time than the 30 minutes Android offers by default. In short, with the maximum waiting time, you can binge-watch four episodes of Game of Thrones without having to worry about your smartphone screen. :)

Finally, it should be noted that Awake! is completely free to download from the Play Store and is very easy to use.

What did you think? Have you heard of this app? If you found it useful, let us know in the comments. See you in the next post! ;)
