The Energy System Forest grows with a new plantation in Asturias

Last year, 2021, we launched a project that fills us with pride and hope: the Energy System Forest. With the aim of contributing to the important work of reforestation, we planted our first tree in Huelva , near Doñana National Park. And in 2022, our forest will grow with a new reforestation project in the municipality of Llanes (Asturias) . This second plantation of the Energy System Forest is made up of 300 native beech trees , a species native to the area, which forms part of the impressive landscape of Asturias.

Reforestation in both Huelva and Llanes has been carried out with tree sockets, not seeds. This helps ensure greater effectiveness and rootedness in tree growth. For this important project, we once again collaborated closely with the Spanish environmental startup Bosquia . With the care and attention their specialists have for our ecosystem, the second plantation in Llanes is now a reality.
