How to free up space on Android with Files Go

One of the headaches we often face is the lack of storage space on our smartphones or tablets, and keeping them optimized can sometimes be a complicated task. That's why today we're telling you how to free up space with Google's new app, Files Go.

To help you achieve this, our colleague Víctor Fantoba , from the Energy Experience Store in Alicante, explains how you can get the most out of this new app.

Once the app is downloaded, the first thing we'll see is the free and used storage. On the welcome screen itself, we see different cards displayed, Google-style, showing a collection of temporary files created by different apps. These files can be easily deleted, just like the cache.

It will also show you files you've downloaded at some point, duplicates, junk, etc., so you can continue freeing up space. It will also suggest apps you don't use regularly, so you can decide whether to uninstall them and continue freeing up space.

But we won't just have options to free up space; we also have another tab called "Files" where we can use a complete file explorer and navigate through all the folders on the device.
