How to recover your photos from your Tuenti account

Admit it: you once had a Tuenti profile ... How many hours did you spend sharing and commenting on photos and statuses with your friends? How many memories we've had with this social network!

However, time passes, fashions change and new options emerge.

Tuenti hasn't survived this and has been displaced by other social networks like Facebook , Twitter , and Instagram . Indeed, while a few years ago it was one of the most popular social networks, the truth is that today, Tuenti is in its death throes, losing more and more users.

Surely you've also thought about closing your Tuenti account on more than one occasion, but you haven't done it because you don't want to lose all those photos you uploaded at the time and that bring back so many memories.

If so, don't worry, because we'll explain how to download your Tuenti photos before permanently deleting your account. You won't be able to recover private messages or comments, but you will be able to recover the most valuable assets: your photos.

• The first thing you should do is download 20up from the website of Borja Menéndez, the creator of this program that will allow you to back up all the photos you have uploaded and tagged in your Tuenti account.

• Once you've downloaded the executable file, you'll need to access it as an administrator. To do this, right-click it and select Run as administrator .

• Once you've selected this option, you'll be ready to use 20up . You'll see a window like this: (Welcome to the 80s! :) )

• Press ENTER to continue, and you'll be asked for the email address and password you use to access (or used to access) your Tuenti. Don't worry, this step is completely secure.

• Once you enter your email and password, your photos will automatically download (yes, all of them, even those you might not want to keep...).

• The downloaded photos will be stored in a folder created alongside the executable file. That is, if the executable is located in the Downloads directory, the photos will be found in that same directory within two folders: Tagged and Uploaded . The first will store the photos in which you were tagged, and the second will store the photos you uploaded to the social network.

• And that's it! Did you think it would be any harder? :) Download time may vary depending on the photos you have. According to the program's creator, each image takes at least half a second to download.

• Once downloaded, you'll be able to enjoy all your photos, even without an internet connection. Plus, if you want, you can edit them and share them on other social networks.
