How can you prepare?

It is advisable to follow a prior training plan , especially if it is a new activity that you are incorporating from scratch.
Your training routine should be consistent and progressive in intensity , and you may want to consider undergoing a prior medical checkup.

Initial training plan.

You can start with a goal of running for about 30 minutes or 5 km . The plan would last approximately 8 weeks, during which time you would dedicate about 3 days a week (alternating), 30 or 35 minutes a day.
During this time, you would alternate intervals of running and walking ; the first few weeks would involve walking for longer periods of time, then gradually increasing the running time and running pace.

Don't forget to warm up and stretch.

Before starting any exercise, you should prepare your body for the effort you'll be putting in. Also, after finishing your session, spend about 5 minutes jogging at an easy pace and don't forget to stretch.
