BBC Earth has teased the media with a preview of its upcoming documentary series, Planet Earth II . A new installment, ten years after the original series. Chances are you've already seen an excerpt online introducing the series and been amazed by the incredible feat of an iguana facing off against a menacing troop of snakes . And if you haven't, take a moment to watch it. It's probably the best thing you'll see today:

This trailer for the series looks promising, and it's sure to get the internet community going with the iguana's brilliant escape maneuvers.

In Planet Earth II, we'll be able to visit 40 countries, but there's one place that's much more remote than the rest and has barely been filmed: Zavodovsky Island, located in the South Atlantic. We'll just tell you that this island has a volcano that's home to a staggering 1.5 million penguins .
The series has already premiered in the United Kingdom and has made a very positive impression. There's a world of difference between the 2006 Planet Earth series and the current one, both in terms of production and photography, as well as the locations explored and the way they're presented. And, as always, nature will surprise us in every episode.
If we say it ourselves: life is the best technology :)
