We're closing a cycle. 2020 is upon us, and that means we have to take stock of the 2010s. It's time to review the best-selling albums of the decade and the most-streamed songs over the years. Place your bets; you're sure to get the top spots.
Let's go with the 10 best-selling albums of the decade!


2010 - Lady Gaga, The Fame Monster
She is the undisputed queen of the best-selling album charts. With nearly 6 million copies sold, this album shared the top spot with Justin Bieber and Eminem. This album includes the hits "Bad Romance," "Telephone, " and "Alejandro."



2011 - Adele, 21
The other great queen of pop this decade. Adele had just released a more intimate album, 18, which managed to top the British charts. With this 21 , she claimed her well-deserved crown practically all over the world. In the UK alone, she has sold 5 million copies, and the album is number 1 on the list of the 40 best-selling albums of the 21st century in the country. No small feat!




2012 - Adele, 21
Ta-da! No mistake. Adele repeated her No. 1 hit in 2012 with over 9 million copies sold. That's over 24 million in total. BRUTAL.




2013 - Bruno Mars, Unorthodox Jukebox
Bruno Mars' second album was the leader of 2013. Don't you remember hearing " Loocked Out of Heaven" on the radio all the time ? In addition to this hit, the album featured some of the most highly regarded songs of his career, such as "Treasure " and " When I Was Your Man."




2014 - Taylor Swift, 1989
Fifth album by American songwriter Taylor Swift, which earned a score of 76 out of 100 on Metacritic.




2015 - Adele, 25
And another award! Adele keeps adding number 1s.




2016 - Adele, 25
That's enough, right? 4 million copies aren't enough for Adele...




2017 - Ed Sheeran, Divide
The reign doesn't leave England. Now it's Ed Sheeran's turn, with more than 9 million copies sold this year.




2018 - The Greatest Showman OST
Last year was a close one. The soundtrack to the film The Greatest Showman ultimately took the top spot with nearly 5.5 million copies sold.




2019 - ???
We've already put our crystal ball to the table to predict which will be this year's best-selling album. Will it be Ariana Grande with her thank u, next ? Or maybe Billie Eilish takes the top spot? We're leaning toward the latter, since Billie is at the top of the trend and media coverage. We only have one month left to see the results and discover the first albums of the new decade.
