MUSIC + AMERICAN FOOTBALL?
Although at first glance they may seem unrelated, there is an annual event that unites them in a “great little concert”: the Super Bowl “Halftime Show.”
"Small" because it is a musical show of about 13 minutes that takes place in the middle of the American football grand final (Super Bowl).
“Great concert” because, although in its beginnings it was common for university bands, choirs, orchestras and some local artists to participate, this show has become a SHOW in capital letters .
Since 1988, the show has hosted major artists of all genres, from Michael Jackson to Rihanna , the Rolling Stones , Paul McCartney, Lady Gaga, Eminem, Madonna, Beyoncé, Bruno Mars, Bruce Springsteen, Shakira, and Jennifer Lopez . The audience, just from live North American viewers, exceeds 100 million on average. Added to this are the hundreds of millions of subsequent views of the performances on YouTube. To make this spectacular show a reality, one of the essential elements, without a doubt, is the skill and professionalism of the "army" of technicians who carry it out in just 6 or 8 minutes, from the pre-show set-up to the subsequent dismantling so that the second half can continue.
Next Sunday, February 11, 2024, the 58th edition will take place at Allegiant Stadium in Las Vegas, where the Kansas City Chiefs will face the San Francisco 49ers. We've already got our Studio Monitor 4 home speakers and popcorn ready to enjoy the moment. This time, the guest artist will be Usher, who previously appeared with The Black Eyes Peas in 2011, and some surprise collaborations are also planned.
