Are you familiar with Facebook Lite? Pros and cons of the popular social network's "light" version.

Artículo de blog

Facebook is that social network that dazzles us all, from pre-teens to seniors. It's the social platform that has conquered every continent, overcoming cultural barriers. But even though we love it... the Facebook app is one of the biggest battery drainers. According to the British newspaper The Guardian, we could save up to 20% of battery life if we uninstalled it from our smartphone ortablet .

To solve this and other problems, Facebook Lite was created: an application designed for devices that do not have much power or that have little storage space, users who have quite restrictive data rates or places with poor connection .

What's different about the Facebook app and its "light" version?

Facebook Lite is much more minimalist . The buttons are just icons , with no text. For example, there's no "Like" button, just a thumbs-up.

Additionally, images are much smaller, and videos can't be viewed from the timeline , so they take less time to load. Overall, the entire app has been reduced in size, detail, and color.

But what really differentiates the two apps is performance . On Facebook Lite, your timeline won't be as extensive as on Facebook, and you'll have to wait to see more updates , as the loading time is quite long. On the other hand, Facebook Lite has a major advantage: you don't need to download the Facebook Messenger extension to chat; you can do it right from the app .

In conclusion, Facebook Lite has several advantages. However, it won't offer the fluidity or convenience that the Facebook app currently offers. However, the Lite version is very successful in countries where connections aren't as good or mobile phones as powerful.

And you? Do you use it regularly? Or do you still prefer the original Facebook app? Tell us in the comments. ;)
